Kerala Lottery Result Claiming Process

The process of winning and claiming a Kerala lottery is quite simple. However, it’s important to know it step-by-step. So if you find out that lady luck has smiled upon you using our results page, here are the steps to claim it.

Step 1: In the Kerala lottery, a ticket’s ownership is decided by the name, address, and signature on its back. So remember to put your name, address, and signature on the back of your lottery ticket as soon as you buy it.

Step 2: Look at the top right corner of your ticket to find the lottery number. This number indicates the lottery to which the ticket belongs. The lottery number consists of two digits and two alphabets separated by a dash. The alphabets indicate the lottery name while the numbers show the draw number. For example, AK-47 means the 47th draw of the Akshaya lottery. Use this number to ensure that you haven’t purchased a ticket for an expired lottery draw.

Step 3: Next, before you exit the ticket outlet, make sure your ticket has the agent’s seal on it (and that it’s clearly visible). This seal has the agent’s name and valid agency code and is used as a verification method during prize payment, especially for bigger prize wins.

Step 4: Your lottery ticket number will also have a counter foil number that’s split by the ticket’s edge. This number is also used for verification during prize payment by comparing it with the other half of the number that’s safely stored at the district office.

Step 5: From buying the ticket to tallying it with the lottery draw numbers, it’s important that you keep your ticket’s secret code safe from prying eyes. This number, and the barcode associated with it, is printed at the bottom left of your ticket. If you fail to keep the secret code, well, secret, your ticket may be forged and your prize claimed before you.

Step 6: If you’ve managed to keep your ticket safe and your excitement in check till the day of the draw, then this the step that will determine your fate. When the draw numbers are announced, tally them with your ticket number. It’s printed at the bottom right of your ticket and consists of a two-character alphabetical code followed by a six-digit numeric code. Also, the ticket number has a barcode printed beneath it. Keep it smudge-free at all costs as it’s the first thing that’s scanned during the verification process.

While tallying the ticket numbers, compare your ticket number with all of the numbers drawn. Compare each alphabet and digit carefully and don’t forget to look for consolation prizes.

Step 7: If you’ve won one of the prizes in the Kerala lottery, you’ll have to verify your winning number with the result published in the Gazette and surrender the lottery ticket within 30 days of the draw date.
